Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has said that there have been some problems within the Chelsea dressing room, but he expressed his confidence that Chelsea will be able to finish within the top four.
Finishing within the top four is extremely crucial for a club like Chelsea because it will ensure them a place in the qualification rounds for the Champions League group stages next season.
Even though a finish in the top three is ideal for a club like Chelsea – because it will guarantee confirmed place within the group stages of the Champions League, Chelsea are not the favourites to do so this season under new manager Andre Villas-Boas.
There are currently in the fifth position in the table behind the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal. Even more dampening is the fact that Arsenal have a better goal difference, while Tottenham have a seven-point advantage over Chelsea.
Yet, Petr Cech was quick to predict that Chelsea will be able to finish within the top four this season. Once after making his prediction, Petr Cech admitted that there have been some major issues within the Chelsea dressing room, which have been the cause of the poor form the club has been experiencing this season.
“When you go with the national team and then go back with the club, it's two different things. If you have all the sort of problems in the club and the club is not doing well and you come to an atmosphere where everyone is relaxed because you have made your target by reaching the European Championship, then the atmosphere is different and you can enjoy it," said Cech.
Petr Cech will be going on international duty with Czech Republic for a round of friendlies before returning to Chelsea, who will be facing West Brom during the weekend.
