HUTTON ASKS FOR TIME

Aston Villa right back Alan Hutton has pleaded his case with the boo boys on the stands and asked for some more time from them to find his feet at the club.

Hutton was bought by Villa manager Alex McLeish at the start of the season at a cut price fee from Tottenham Hotspur after they let Kyle Walker, who was on loan at Villa from Spurs go back to his parent club.

Hutton played some of the best football from right back in the country for Tottenham last season and there was huge expectation from him on his arrival at the club to replace the popular figure of Luke Young, who left Villa to join fellow English Premier League club Queens Park Rangers.

However, Alan Hutton is yet to put in the displays that made him a fan favorite at White Hart Lane for the Claret and Blues and that has made it very difficult for him to get a place in the starting lineup. Many Villa fans feel that Hutton, who is a Scotsman, was brought in by McLeish because of his ties with him and the jeers ringing from the stands also reveal their feeling towards him.

Hutton cut a consistent figure at Tottenham Hotspur during his spell with the club and Villa fans expected to see the same kind of consistency from him at Villa Park as well and his time on the field has been far from that. He flew in with a tackle that injured Shane Long of West Bromwich Albion and was also sent off against Arsenal for two stupid fouls and all these things turned the Villa fans against Alan Hutton.

It is now worth seeing whether the Villa fans do give him time to settle in and whether he himself can match the exploits of Young on the field.
