Chelsea legend Petr Cech has called on the club's fans to exercise patience as they continue to grow under increasing and intense pressure to sign new players during the summer transfer window.
Cech was asked a few days ago if the club were working on signings this summer and he revealed that he was not in the best position to talk about the club's transfer plans or about players that are contracted to other clubs. However, he has now been forced to give something out after the fans continued to lash at the London club on social media over their lack of activity in the summer transfer window.
Cech said that he understands the feeling of the fans and added that they have the right to be frustrated because they are the ones who make the club sign players. Cech also revealed that Chelsea are seriously working hard to sign players but it has continued to become harder because of how the transfer window has become and has continued to become in recent years.
However, the club's former goalkeeper still refused to give any hint about the players that are on the club's shopping list. When asked, he said that he would not be drawn into talking about players until they are confirmed to have signed contracts with Chelsea Football Club. It is believed that Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is Chelsea's main transfer target but with the German Bundesliga giants refusing to be convinced to sell the 21-year-old star forward, it has become slightly difficult for Chelsea to focus on other signings as they want to first sign the former RB Salzburg man.
Haaland is said to be interested in the move but there first has to be an agreement between Dortmund and Chelsea before a transfer can happen.
