Petr Cech during his Chelsea career was known for having a no-nonsense policy against conceding errors that would end up leading to goals. But that may not have been the case after he made an appearance against the U23 team of Tottenham Hotspur.
Following the sad decline of Chelsea's club-record signing KepaArrizabalaga, Chelsea had to shuffle the goalkeeping department with the signing of Edouard Mendy from French side Rennes. Now they are plotting a return from retirement for Petr Cech who accelerated his return to top-flight football by featuring in Chelsea's U23 fixture against London rivals Tottenham.
The match which also featured midfield outcast Danny Drinkwater was one to forget for the former Leicester City man as well.
Although Chelsea ran out 3-2 winners over Tottenham, one of the main highlights of the game would be a Petr Cech Blunder which gifted their rivals one of their goals.
The 38-year-old also made another blinder as he tried to give a pass to a teammate but ended up playing it out for a corner.
One would give him the benefit of doubt and free him from much criticism given that it was his first time to feature in a match since hanging his boots over one year ago, but if he is aiming to make a return to the Chelsea first-team, he would need to hone his goalkeeping skills one more time.
