Chelsea’s undisputed goalkeeper Petr Cech was left annoyed and disappointed after playing against West Brom and not playing at his usual best which allowed the opposing team to score twice as the Czech shot-stopper could have done a much better job in both goals.
He spoke to the English media about the game and said:
"Then we let them go 2-1 up because of my mistake. I lost my footing on the pitch and then I failed to react to the shot properly. It was a cheap goal to concede.
"One point is better than nothing, but that doesn't change the fact that we should have won and put the advantage of playing at home to good use. We let them go 2-1 up because of my mistake. I lost my footing on the pitch and then I failed to react to the shot properly. It was a cheap goal to concede."
Reports have been emerging claiming that the Spanish titans Real Madrid preparing a
£30m offer for Petr Cech. Iker Casillas was dropped for Diego Lopez for the majority of last season when Jose Mourinho was the head coach.
With the introduction of Carlo Ancelotti as the new coach, he has tried switching the goalkeepers depending on the tournament or match they are playing and might be looking for a more permanent solution.
Iker Casillas is obviously not happy about spending most of his time in the sidelines which means that an exit from Real Madrid is a very plausible option and Petr Cech is a top target of Ancelotti.
Petr Cech and Carlo Ancelotti have worked together during their time in Chelsea and they might be working in the same club once more after the winter transfer window.
