Belgium national team boss Marc Wilmots is of the opinion that Petr Cech will be sold in the summer in order to make way for Thibaut Courtois, who will be returning from his three-year loan spell at Atletico Madrid. Since signing for Chelsea in 2011, Courtois has not represented the blues as he has been spending the time on loan at the Spanish outfit. Now, he is regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world at just 22. The has been a lot of speculation as to whether he will be loaned out once again because Chelsea already have a top goalkeeper in the form of Cech.
However, it looks like the blues will be selling the Czech Republic stopper according to Wilmots, who has all but confirmed that Courtois will be a Chelsea player next season. Cech is currently nursing a shoulder injury that she suffered while playing against Atletico Madrid. He is not expected to be back until August or September. This could mean that he has very well played his last match for the club. Courtois helped the Belgian national team reach the last 16 of the World Cup 2014. He has kept one clean sheet in the two matches he has played.
“Yes, he will be returning to Chelsea this summer. Will they sell Cech? Yes, probably,” said the Belgium boss about the future of his star asset. Courtois has been regarded as the next big thing in world football. He was just 19 years old when he joined Chelsea in a £ 9 million deal from Belgian club Genk. He is right now valued in excess of £ 20 million. Several clubs like Barcelona showed interest in signing him on a permanent basis, but Chelsea refused to sell the player, who has two years left on his contract.
