Arsenal goalie Petr Cech hailed former Arsenal No. 1, Jens Lehmann.
Arsenal former players – dubbed Arsenal Legends – faced former AC Milan players – Milan Glories – in a friendly match which they won 4-2. Former Nigerian international and two-time African Footballer of the Year Award winner Kanu Nwankwo said he would get a hat trick ahead of the game, and he did get it.
Cech revealed his best player at the same interview. He said Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane was his favourite in a football jersey. “My favourite player was Zidane. So if I had a chance to pick up a whole world team of my past favourite players, he would definitely be in it,” Cech revealed.
The Arsenal Legends game saw the team take on some of the world’s best players ever in an AC Milan shirt. Players like Robert Pires, Freddie Ljunberg, Kolo Toure, Giberto and others featured for the famous Red and White club. The game was a great entertainment as the Premier League was on hiatus following the international break.
Arsenal would be returning to action when the League resumes as they host Southampton. Petr Cech is poised to be in goal, after settling well into the season after conceding four in the first game against the Reds. The star game of the weekend would be the Manchester derby, followed by Liverpool hosting the EPL defending champions, Leicester City.
