Petr Cech Not Seeking a Move Away from Arsenal, Claims Agent

When Petr Cech decided to bring his decade-long service at Chelsea to an end, Arsenal were one of his key destinations.

Moving to the gunners allowed Cech to remain in London, where he has been based for more than a decade. Since the Czech Republic goalkeeper did not want to relocate, he decided upon a £ 10 million move to Arsenal in the summer of 2015. Even prior to the move, Cech was aware about the difficulties faced by Arsenal in order to remain competitive in the Premier League. The club had not won the league title since the 2003-04 season.Cech himself had won on numerous occasions against the gunners.

Yet, the move came about but Cech would not be happy with the record of trophies. After having used to winning at least one trophy in a season with Chelsea,Cech has only managed to win the Community Shield since moving to Arsenal. Arsenal had won back-to-back FA Cup titles beforeCech came to the club.

These were the only honours achieved by the gunners in more than a decade. With little sign of the situation changing, rumours have surfaced about Cech looking at the possibility of a move away from the Emirates stadium. However, his agent has ruled out with those rumours by saying thatCech is more than happy at North London.

“Petr’s position at the club is very secure and a summer transfer can be ruled out. Petr will be part of Arsenal until at least the end of his current contract and I am convinced that he will continue to have a leadership role in the team,” said the player’s agent.“It’s difficult to come out individually.Petr Cech is a guy who is serious, wants to do well, he prepares well. Overall he’s had a good season,” said Arsene Wenger in response to rumours surrounding Cech.
