Hull City midfielder Ryan Mason has revealed that former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has been in touch with him in order to help him recover from the horrible skull injury that he suffered earlier in the season.
Mason has revealed that he has been visited several times by Cech, who has also given advice on how to make a good comeback. While Mason has not yet returned to playing, he is hopeful of making a full comeback sooner rather than later.
However, the midfielder will join Hull City in the Championship after the club’s relegation to the second division of English football. Despite an incredible run of home wins since the arrival of Marcos Silva, the club have been unable toprevent relegation. Swansea’s run of wins has helped them get above the drop zone at a crucial time.
Cech suffered a skull fracture in a clash with Stephen Hunt back in 2006. Since then, head injuries have started receiving immediate treatment on the pitch.“It was fantastic to speak to somebody like Petr because he has been through something similar. He has given me advice and he talked to me about what to expect. He’s told me not to worry about certain things, and mentally and psychologically it has been great to spend time talking to him. You look at what Petr came back to achieve after his head injury and it is quite remarkable,” said Mason.
